HYDROGRAPHIC SURVEYS

 

Allen Engineering has, for many years, provided hydrographic surveying services for our clients.  The smaller projects were for lake or riverside developments, such as Melbourne Harbor, while the major projects were mostly for Port Canaveral or for the many contractors working at the Port.  Work consisted of monitoring elevations for dredging operations at the Turning Basin and the Trident Base.  Beach profiles were also run for the Port and Patrick Air Force Base.

 

Equipment available for hydrographic surveying services is as follows:

    -        Model 455 Survey Depth Sounder with 208kHz, 3 degree transducer and Model 605 remote, large number depth display

    -        ITI Datalog with guidance software

    -        Dolch Note PAC Waterproof Computer with 266 Pentium MMX CPU,  32 MB DIMM memory, and 6GB hard disk

    -        Trimble DG PS with sub-meter accuracy, built-in USCG Beacon Receiver & Omnistar Receiver, and 1 year Omnistar subscription-US

         &  Near Shore

    -        Model 110 Tide Gauge with atmospheric pressure sensor

    -        Data telemetry system-Model 453A UHF Data link

Hydrographic Surveying Vessels

    -        18’ Side Console Inshore Hydrographic Boat – heavy gauge aluminum, powered by a 35HP Johnson outboard engine

    -        14’ Jonboat inshore Hydrographic Boat – heavy gauge aluminum, powered by a 9.9 HP Johnson outboard engine

    -        13’ Boston Whaler Inshore Hydrographic Boat powered by a 60HP Johnson outboard engine

    -      30Monark Offshore Hydrographic Surveying vessel with heavy gauge aluminum hull, twin 216 HP 6V53 Detroit Diesel 

          inboard engines,  300-gallon fuel  capacity, top speed of 21 knots, and trailer mountable for highway transport.
