New project news

AEI has helped Seaport Canaveral open their $150 million fuel storage tank farm for business in Cape Canaveral, Florida, as well as their fuel pipeline to the Port Canaveral cruise terminals.  Along with engineering and survey services, we provided the project coordination between the owners, contractors, and permitting agencies.

Heritage High School in Palm Bay, Florida, the newest AEI school project in the Brevard County School System, opened for the 2009 – 2010 school year on August 10th, 2009.  This $80 million school features an enhanced hurricane protection area (EHPA) in addition to regular school amenities.

Allen Engineering is beginning its 11th year associated with the Space Coast Post of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME).  During our 11 years, we have helped raise close to $225,000 in scholarships and endowments.  We are extremely proud to be associated with SAME and its continued commitment to offer opportunities for students pursuing careers in the engineering field.

Schools

Our longstanding relationship with the School Board of Brevard County has allowed us to provide services to over 80 new and retrofitted schools in the area.  Allen Engineering has also had experience in providing services for several schools in the Palm Beach, Florida area.  Other services include design and permitting for the conversion of natural grass athletic fields to synthetic surfaces.





Enterprise Elementary - Space Coast Jr./Sr. High School

This 149-acre site contains both Enterprise Elementary and Space Coast Jr./Sr. High.  Enterprise is a 714 student station elementary school with open play fields, parking and a bus loop.  Space Coast is a 1,925 student station school, which has recently been converted from a middle school to a Jr./Sr. high school.  The conversion included classroom additions, stadium upgrades, parking upgrades, a driver’s education course, competitive baseball and softball fields, and competitive tennis courts.

Heritage High School

Completed in the summer of 2009, this 2,384 student school is the newest high school in the Brevard County school system.  Located at the west end of Malabar Road in Palm Bay, Florida, it was constructed with an enhanced hurricane protection area (EHPA). Ammenities on this 66.1 acre site include a football field, track, baseball field, softball field, tennis courts, parking, driver's education course and bus compound.

Meadowlane Schools

The Meadowlane/Central school site is an 80-acre project in West Melbourne along Wingate Boulevard.  The site consists of three independent schools – Meadowlane Primary, Meadowlane Intermediate, and Central Middle.  The newest of the three schools is Meadowlane Intermediate.  Completed for the 2007-2008 school year, the 988 student Meadowlane Intermediate includes an enhanced hurricane protection area (EHPA), and a central energy plant to serve all three schools.

Melbourne High School Football Field

Allen Engineering's involvment with projects at Melbourne High School have been widespread.  The most recent project has been the conversion of the football field from natural grass to a synthetic surface.  The conversion includes an intricate underdrain system and coarse aggregate base below the synthetic suface.  The Melbourne High School field is one of three synthetic surface fields in Brevard County, Florida.
