Seaport Canaveral Fuel Storage

SEAPORT CANAVERAL FUEL STORAGE

The newest addition to Port Canaveral, Florida, this 31.6-acre project, completed in April 2010, provides 24 new fuel storage tanks, with the larger tanks having a capacity of 6.3 million gallons of fuel per tank.  The project required the installation of over 6,000 piles to support the tanks, pipelines and other miscellaneous structures.  Unique to this project was the use of innovative stormwater management features.  These features include special drainage inlet traps, a 25,000 gallon capacity oil/wate separator unit, and over 2,600 feet of swales with underdrains, all of which provides water quality treatment prior to discharge to the harbor.
